Synapse TV Ltd participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and complies with its Specifications and Policies. Synapse TV Ltd operates and uses the Consent Management Platform with the identification number 447.
Overview
Synapse TV Ltd provides free-to-view video streaming services on UK Digital Terrestrial Television (UK-DTT) and mobile platforms.
Synapse free-to-view services do not require registration, so we do not know your name, gender, postal address or any other personal details that could identify you as an individual.
In order to ensure the video streaming service is running correctly, we collect some anonymous data about stream and ad views. We also share some aggregated statistics with selected partners. For example, a content-owner may receive a periodic report of the aggregated viewing figures for their channel. The following data may be present:
Device OS version and model information. We collect the OS version (e.g. "Android 10") and model information (e.g. "Samsung SMA41F") from your device when you access our services. This information is used to determine whether particular devices or OS versions have any specific needs problems. This information is therefore required to help us improve the performance of the service on all supported devices.
Application usage data. We collect aggregated data on stream and ad views. Aggregated statistics about channel views may be passed to our partners, for example, a content-owner may receive a periodic report of the aggregated viewing figures for their channels. Application usage data can also be used to detect errors that may occur in our streaming infrastructure and is therefore required to ensure continued operation of the service.
IP Address. The IP address assigned to your internet router by your Internet Service Providers will not be sent to any third-party organisation without your consent. We do not track this IP address but it may appear in our logs as you use the video streaming service.
App Installation ID. Your TV will be assigned a unique random App Installation ID on first use of the streaming service. This ID is used for session management and to enable storage of viewer preferences on TV platforms that cannot store your preference directly on the device. Examples of user preferences stored include last viewed channel on a portal service, a preference for HD vs SD resolution content or your preference regarding consent. The App Installation ID is stored on your device but it may appear in our server logs as you use the service.
Introduction
Synapse TV Ltd. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates video streaming services via connected TV and mobile platforms (hereinafter referred to as “Service”).
Our Privacy Policy governs your visit to the Service and explains how we collect, safeguard and disclose information that results from your use of our Service.
We use your data to provide and improve Service. By using Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Definitions
SERVICE means the video streaming application operated by Synapse TV Ltd.
PERSONAL DATA means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of Service or from Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
COOKIES are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).
DATA CONTROLLER means a natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, we are a Data Controller of your data.

PERSONAL DATA. The Service does not require registration, so we do not know your name, gender, address or any other personal details, but your device’s current IP address, allocated by your Internet Service Provider, will appear in our server logs.

Synapse TV Ld. uses the collected data for various purposes:
(a) to provide and maintain our Service;
(b) to allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so;
(c) to gather information so that we can improve our Service;
(d) to monitor the usage of our Service;
(e) to detect, prevent and address technical issues;
(f) to provide aggregated service usage reports to content-owners and other selected partners;
(g) on mobile services, to ensure content is distributed only in the territories for which it is licensed (geo-blocking);
Retention of Data
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes and for the generation of aggregated anonymous service usage reports.
Transfer of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside Europe and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to servers hosted in Europe and process it there.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
Synapse TV Ltd. will take all the steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organisation or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

We may disclose personal information that we collect, or you provide:

Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
